Experience That Matters
My name is Marianne Stacey, and my family moved to Wyoming in 1975. I graduated from Green River High School, where I met my husband. We married shortly after high school and have built our life here in Wyoming together. We have two daughters. Our oldest daughter, who is handicapped, still lives at home with us, and our youngest daughter is married and has blessed us with two wonderful granddaughters.
Family has always been at the center of my life. We also love spending time with our dogs and exploring Wyoming in our Jeep. Over the past few years, we have discovered so many beautiful places across our state that we had never seen before, which has only deepened my appreciation for Wyoming and the people who call it home.
I began my career in the Assessor’s Office in 1998 as part of the Field Crew at the entry level. Over the years, I worked my way through different positions within the office, including deeds and industrial accounts, while also gaining cross-training experience in every area of the office. In 2019, I was promoted to Office Manager, a position I held for four years before being promoted to Chief Appraiser in 2023, which is my current role.
Throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience in property assessment, office operations, and leadership. As Chief Appraiser, I continue learning every day — from evaluating the county fairly and accurately to handling management responsibilities and understanding how our local office works alongside other levels of government.
I have built strong working relationships with the Wyoming Department of Revenue, the State Board of Equalization, assessors across the state, industry representatives, industrial appraisers, and most importantly, the taxpayers of this county. I believe those relationships, along with my years of hands-on experience and commitment to serving our community, have prepared me well for continued leadership and service.
